Product of the month.

So April is almost over, and I thought I would do my first "product of the month" post about e.l.f. shimmering facial whip in "lilac petal". I have been using this product every single day and it's absolutely amazing.

It's a super shiny highlighter and a little goes a very long way. I have been using this product almost every day for the last couple of months and I can hardly tell that any product is missing from the tube.

I use a tiny drop on my cheekbones and blend it out by lightly dapping with my fingers. It gives me a nice healthy glow without looking glittery or over the top shimmery. Sometimes I use it as a base for eyeshadows or as a brow highlight.

It has nice sugary orange scent and comes in 8 different colours. I wil definately be trying out a few different colours.

And another good thing about it is, that it only costs 1,50£ or 12,68DKK and it will last you ages.

e.l.f. Eyebrow lifter and filler review.

I'm blonde but I dye my hair black, so I desperately need an eyebrow pen to match my hair colour. I use an eyebrow pen everyday and thought I would give the e.l.f. one a try.

Price: 3,50£ or 29,58DKK here
Eyebrow lifter and filler is a dual sided makeup pen with a "fill" side for filling in your brows and darkening them. The "lifter" side is a pale pinkish colour for highlighting under the brow, to give it a lifting effect.
Both colours are creamy but also a bit waxy. I do not like the waxy feel it has when you first apply I ordered the darkest pen wich isn't even that dark, but it suits me well.
When I first applied the "filler" I instantly hated it. It clumped my brow hairs together and just looked really bad. So I put it back in my makeup closet and forgot about it. Today I tried using a little brow brush after applying the waxy "filler". That made a BIG difference. The brows just looked so much better and they didn't feel waxy anymore.
Here you can see my brows before and after i used the brow brush with my eyebrow lifter and filler.

I cant really use the "lift" side as it almost darker than my skintone and therefore not really a good highlighter for me. But I will try and see if it can be used as an eye base or primer.
I have mixed feelings about this product. I actually like the results of this pen+brush much better than my other brow pencil, but I can't really use the "lifter" end and I cant use the "filler" end without a brush so that's what makes it only OK in my eyes.
If elf were to make a brow pencil with the brush on the end I would certainly buy it.

Eyeko Grafitti liner review.

Price: 5,50£ or around 50DKK
I have tried quite a few eyeliners, kohl/kajal, powder eyeliner, gel liner and so on, but nothing compares to liquid eyeliner. I like a winged eye and I find that liquid eyeliner just works best for me.
My favorite eyeliner of all times would have to be Eyeko grafitti liner, I have used grafitti liner for over a year and I think I have found my holy grail. It's a felt tip marker style pen with a smudge proof very black colour. It lasts all day and night and won't budge.
I did have to get used to the felt tip but once I got the hang of it is was very easy to use. I like a strong bold line, but it can also be used for thinner lines as well. It comes off easily with makeup remover and it does not sting my sensitive eyes.
There is currently 4 different colours to choose from: black, brown, blue and purple. I would love to see more colour options though.
I have almost used up my second grafitti liner and I will most definately be repurchasing. I think I will get one in purple as well.

Large makeup remover review part 2

Yves Rocer Inositol vegetal:

Price: 29,90 DKK here and 7$ here
Packaging: 150ml looks bigger than that. Environment friendly packaging. Looks very "scientiffic" and clean.
Scent: it has a fresh and clean scent to it. I dont now how to explain it but it smells like something that will be good for your face?
Colour/consistency: A nice baby blue gel that melts on your skin.
Performance: This did a nice job removing the makeup. Not as good as biotherm but still above average perfomance.
How does it feel on the skin: it has a great cooling effect on the skin and feels very moisturizing, not oily at all. It did not irritate my eyes or my sensitive skin.
Suitable for: normal, combination and dry skin. It works well on my sensitive skin so it might be worth a try if you have sensitive skin like me.
I’m quite happy with this product. It is very affordable and It removes makeup well and makes my skin feel clean and moisturized. I will need to try it out a bit longer to see the full effects of this product. But at this point I would repurchase. If it was a competition this product would win!

Kanebo Purenavi makeup cleansing gel:

Price: I got this as a free sample from here
Pakcaging: 6oz 170 grams, clear blue tube. Japanese (I think) lettering
Scent: It is supposed to be fragrance free, colorant free and paraben free but I think it smells a bit like alcohol.
Colour/consistency: Clear gel, it is supposed to become a foam when rubbed on with wet hands, I almost did not see any lather.
Performance: It removes face makeup very well. Apparently this product is not made for eye makeup removal as I foud a description of it online saying to avoid eye area and rinse immediatle if it gets into the eyes.
How does it feel on the skin: It feels cooling and moisturising at first. I have somewhat sensitive skin, and this products was supposed to be a gentle makeup remover but after one use my skin feels a little irritated and I can feel little bumps on my cheeks starting to emerge. After I cleansed it off my skin felt very clean but also very dry.
Suitable for: I won't recommend this for sensitive skin at all. But if you dont have sensitive skin and you have normal to oily skin this might actually be a good facial cleanser. Also I could see men using this products as it has no scent to it and the packaging is quite neutral.
It is a major drawback that this cannot be used on the eyes andI would not buy this particular product... ever.

Have you tried?
Olive oil! It does a great job at removing waterproof makeup and it does not irritate the skin. it leaves your face moisturized and radient. Just make sure to wash it off and do not get it into your eyes. It will not sting your eyes but it will give you a cloudy vision.
I will be doing a review soon on makeup remover wipes, I really like wipes but most of them are a bit pricey considering you get about 20 uses out of the whole package.
I hope you found this helpful, feel fre to comment below.

Large makeup remover review part 1

These products have all been tested in two ways, on my arm I tested them with waterproof eyeliner, highly pigmented navy blue eyeshadow and primer underneath.
On my face I tested them with primer and full coverage foundation set with powder.
This is my opinion of the products based on how they worked for me. Keep in mind that they may work differently for you, depending on skintype, how you use the product and what makeup you are wearing. All but the purenavi cleanser has parabens and fragrance in them. I am not overly concerned about parabens but I thought I better state it as some people do not want to use products with parabens.

Biotherm Biosource softening cleansing milk (pink):

Price: 148DKK at Parfumeplus.dk, I don't know about US or UK prices.
Pakcaging: 200ml pink with white lid, a bit difficult to get the last bit of product out.
Scent: Pleasant and not owerpowering, however after using almost the whole bottle I have grown somewhat tired of the scent. It’s not a bad scent I have just smelled it for too long I guess.
Colour/consistency: It’s a baby pink creamy cleansing milk.
Performance: This did the best job at removing all my makeup. It works really well. Does sting a bit if I get it in my eyes.
How does it feel on the skin: It feels soft and gentle on the skin. On the bottle it says to rinse it off with water or a toner, I would highly suggest you follow these instrucions or your skin will feel a bit oily.
Suitable for: Dry and sensitive skin.
This is one of the more expensive products i own, and it’s the second bottle I have gone through. I just don’t feel it does a whole lot of anything for my skin anymore. Perhaps my skin has changed a bit and has other needs than it did before. I probably will repurchase this, but first I will continue searching for a product that suits me better. This is a great buy if you want to spend a little more on a good cleanser.

L’oreal Demaq expert foaming gel cream:

Price: £5,56 on amazon.co.uk
Pakcaging: Sqeeze tube 150ml, nice and proffesional looking.
Scent: I don’t know how to explain it, but it smells powdery to me.
Colour/consistency: It’s a very thick almost a bit tacky (without being greasy) pastel green gel/cream.
Performance: It does an OK job at removing foundation but it does not remove eyemakeup very well. I dont like the application of it. You have to wet your face and work the gel into a lather. I hate that, I much prefer to use my products on cotton pads/balls, but you cant do that with this product. It is way too thick and tacky and you will end up with you cotton ball stuck to your face. So I guess I am too lazy to use this the right way. For now I just wet the cottong ball and apply the gel to my face with it. Works alright.
How does it feel on the skin: Feels thick and tacky. But once you rinse it off your skin feels nice and moisturized without feeling oily.It does not sting my eyes.
Suitable for: Normal to dry skin.
I may not like the texture of this gel, and it may need a little extra work to dissolve your mascara but it actualy is a good cleanser still. I have a love&hate relashionship with this product but I liked it enough to want to try some of the other cleansers that l'oreal demaq expert has.
Stay tuned for part 2

e.l.f. Golden Bronzer review.

I have very light to pale skin, so I did not think that I could ever use a bronzer. I recently bougt the golden bronzer after reading a bit about contouring and I thought that it was about time I learned to contour. I started using it as soon as I got it, and I have not stopped since!
Price: 3 dollars, 29,58 DKK or 3,50 £
Packaging: I really like the matte black square compact. It makes it look quite high end in my opinion. Really good quality and not flimsy at all. Inside the lid is a nice big mirror for quick touch ups on the go.
You get a good amount of product for the price (12,3 grams or 0,4 oz.)
There are 4 shades in the compact, 3 bronzy colours and one highlight colour.
I think this bronzer is extremely versatile. I use the reddish colour as a blush, the lightest as an eyeshadow and a highlighter and mix them all together to get the desired shade of bronzer I want.

This bronzer does have a bit of shimmer to it, and I know a lot of people don't like that but I don't mind. I don't use it all over the face, just the places I want a hint of sunkissed glow.

My boyfriend lives in a different city so I am out of town every weekend. This is super for traveling, all I need in my makeup bag is my mascara, a foundation, a concealer and this bronzer and I'm good to go.
I will most definately be repurchasing this.

Customized eyeshadow palette.

I just finished pressing the last eyeshadow for my customized palette and I'm very happy with the results. I just thought I wanted to share this with you guys:)
Some of the shadows have been made with coastal scents pigment and micas and others are a blend of different eyeshadows I owned but never used because the shade just wan't right. The only bad shadow is the white one. It did not turn out as pigmented as I hoped, so I will probably make a new white. And I used to much "pressing meduim" in the black one, so I have to redo that as well.

I got the empty magnetic palette from ebay for around 9 dollars.
A lot of people use alcohol to press the shadows I used cyclomethicone and dimethicone (silicone) as found in personal lubricants and serums for the hair. I bought the ingredients myself and they are unscented and do not irritate my sensitive eyes. They make the eyeshadow more soft and easy to blend without creasing on the eye. Hope you like it.

Coastal Scents haul with swathes.

I have been working on making my own eyeshadow palette with shadows I press myself. So I ordered a few things from Coastal scents to use in the palette.
I ordered 6 eyeshadow samples(from left): Lusty, First Date, Mystic Lilac, Champagne, Chrome Addict and vampin' Red
I recieved the last eyeshadow called Gold Dust as a free sample.

I also ordered a few samples of their blush in the colour True Blush, a sample of Ultramarine Violet, a sample of Antique Gold Mica and 1 oz of plain mica powder.

Everything came neatly packaged, and my samples were in a very cute little mesh bag. The shipping from Coastal Scents to Denmark is really fast, and I love how they always give you a free sample with your order. So I will not hesitate to order from them again.

My palette is almost done so I will be posting pictures of it soon.

Yves Rocher lash plumping mascara review.

I am really picky when it comes to mascara, and it's really hard for me to find just the right mascara. I have very blonde almost invisible eyelashes, I would say they are OK long, perhaps a little longer than average. What I look for in a good mascara is volume without clumping, a mascara that does not transfer or smudge but is easy to remove at night.

Price: $16 or £16.

I have been using Yves Rocher lash plumping mascara for a week now, at first I was not quite sure how I liked it. But after a few uses I think this is my new go to mascara for casual and every day looks.

Packaging: Very nice and simple with a lovely pinkish colour. The mascara wand tends to get a bit messy at the top, but nothing too bad.

What it does: It really seperates and lengthens the lashes well. The formula does not irrate my sensitive eyes and it does not make my eyelashes "crispy" and dry. I don't think it plumps the lashes as much as I had hoped, but I forgive it because it looks so good anyways.

Here are my lashes before and after application.

I really do like this mascara and I will probably repurchase if it continues to do such a great job. You are welcome to leave a comment if you have any questions about this product or where to buy it. I am not affiliated with any company in any way and want to focus more on theproduct than on the brand, so if you have any questions about the brands I review feel free to comment.

e.l.f. Studio blush review and swatches

It's just within the last couple of years that I have started wearing blush on a daily basis. I have always struggeled with redness and freckles, and I just thought that blush made it worse. Now I've gotten better at controlling my redness and learned to live with my freckles, now I really enjoy wearing blush.

I recently picked up 3 blushes from the e.l.f. studio line: Gotta glow, candid coral and tickled pink.

price: $3 on american website and £3,50 in the UK and europe.

Gotta glow (left): A sheer and subtle golden shimmer effect. I like this for highlighting my cheeks. It's not too shimmery and not too glittery, but leaves your cheeks with a golden glow.

Candid Coral (middle): A peachy blush with a golden sheen/glow to it. This colour comes out very sheer but can be build up as desired without looking powdery and cakey.

Tickled pink (right): A very natural pink without shimmer. This makes my cheeks look naturally flushed. Also very sheer but can be build up as desired without looking powdery or cakey.

(I am wearing candid coral in the photo)

I am very pale so it can sometimes be hard to find a blush that is not too dark and pigmented for me. These blushes work perfectly with my light skin. I am not sure how well they would show up on medium to dark skin. But I would imagine that gotta glow would look nice on medium skintones and give it a nice golden glow.

The only negative thing I have to say about them is that they wear off a little too fast for my liking. If I apply the blush in the morning it will be completely gone in the afternoon. But I always keep one in my purse so I can touch up. I found they will last longer with a setting spray, but I don't use one every day. Overall I like these a lot. They are affordable, easy to use and I have been lucky to find some nice colours that suits me well. I will repurchase if I ever run out, and will probably expand my collection soon.

e.l.f. nailpolish review

I have recently bought a few nail polishes from e.l.f. and thought it would be fun to do a little review on them. I like to wear nail polish occasionally but would not say that I am an expert in any way. This is just my opinion on the colours that I bought.
Price: $1,00 or £1,50 in europe.
Pros: Wide selection of colours, affordable, opaque, easy to apply, dries resonably fast.
Cons: not that glossy, the glitter can be a bit chunky, the colour you get may not look completely like the colour you see in the online shop.

Here are the colours that I got. Excuse my ugly nails, it looks a bit messy.
Golden Goddess: Fine gold glitter with larger holographic glitters.
Twinkle: Multi coloured glitter in blue/green/purple/orange tones.
Innocent: Nude.
Dark glitter purple: Very dark bluish purple with not that visible glitter.
Chocolate: warm dark brown.
Black: Nice opaque black.
All the colours except from Innocent, are not as glossy as I would have hoped. But that can easily be fixed with a good top coat. I am a bit dissapointed at Dark glitter purple. It's almost too dark to see the glitters, you have to really look closely to see it. Otherwise I think the colours are quite opaque for such an affordable nail polish. I only needed 2 coats of the regular nail polish and 3 coats of the glittery. The polishes can be a bit watery, but they are still very easy to apply.
I have experienced little to no chipping of this nail polish. Normaly when I put nail polish on, it will chip after just one day. This polish looks nice and pretty on my nails for 3-4 days before I have to touch up. I can't say that the polish won't chip on your nails, maybe it's just a good formula for my nails. I know that some of oyu might think that 3-4 days is not that long, but it's the longest wearing polish I have ever worn and I own polish from Gosh, loreal and maybelline.
Overall this is a really good nail polish if you are looking to expand your collection, without breaking the bank. It's well worth the money. There are a few hit and miss colours. If you are looking for the ultimate highest quality and the finest glitter, this may not be for you. But for a person like me - who want a lot of different colours to play with - this is just right. I will be expanding my collection soon.

Too Faced naked eye palette, review with swatches.

Price: $35
I am always on the lookout for some good neutral eyeshadow. I love colours, but I allways find myself reaching for the neutral shades. At first I thought I would get the Urban Decay naked palette, but I thought that the shades in the Too Faced palette would suit me better. And I am NOT dissapointed. I really love this palette. I can use every single shade, and they all suit me perfectly! How often does that happen? Not that often if you ask me.
Now let's take a look inside this awesome palette. Inside you will find 3 full size eyeshadows and 6 smaller ones. They are paired in 3 different categories: Day, Classic and Fashion. You can mix and match them as you please, but I like how it inspires me to try some different looks. The lid of the palette holds 3 look cards for inspiration, wich I dont really use but it's a nice little detail. There is a little "drawer" in the bottom of the palette, that pulls out to reveal a double ended makeup aplicator. It makes the palette a little bulky, but it's not a big problem for me. One problem for me on the other hand is the quality of the cardboard packaging. It seems a little flimsy and if I turned the palette upside down 3 of the shadow would fall out. I don't know if I just got "a bad one" or if they are all like this.

Let's talk about the shadows in this palette. There is a great variety of finishes, matte, satin and almost shimmery shades. Most are them are nicely pigmented but a few of the lightger shades are quite sheer.

Day:
1. In the buff: matte offwhite, good as a highlighter or all over the lid
2. Pillow Talk: matte light cool toned brown. this is a little to sheer for me.
3. Like A Virgin: matte cool toned brown. Great for more neutral smokey eyes.

Classic:
4. Birthday Suit: satin pale bronze, a nice bronze that suits most skintones.
5. Satin Sheets: metallic/satin golden pink. A really pretty colour.
6. Unmentionables: satin gunmetal gray. great for smoky eyes.

Fashion:
7. Pink Cheeks: satin light pink, really pretty paired with unmentionables.
8. Lap Dance: satin grayish brown, not as pigmented as I hoped.
9. Stiletto: matte black, very very pigmented and black.

Time for some swatches. I have numbered the swatches accordingly to the list above. The left side is daylight and the right side is with flash. The colours are so much prettier in real life, but I thought you should see them anyway. I have used an eye primer as a base.

As you can see nr. 1 (in the buff) and nr. 2 (pillow talk) aren't that pigmented. But look at that matte black! it's incredible. I love the silky soft feel of the shadows and the satin finish on my eyes. I have not had any problems with the eyeshadow creasing, but I find that it looks better and lasts longer with a primer underneath. I really really like this palette and I know that I will use it until there is simply no more product left inside.

e.l.f. mineral lipstick review

I have never really been a lipstick girl. I only own a few different shades from different brands, including a few reds, a black cherry colour and a nude beige. I really wanted to start wearing lipstick more often, so I thought I would buy a few wearable neutral shades to start with. Because of the affordable prices I thought e.l.f. was a good place to start my collection. So after watching a few swatches online, I went shopping.

I bought two lipsticks, one in runway pink and one in natural nymph:

e.l.f. says: "Now you can hydrate your lips and get a lasting soft color naturally! This nourishing blend of exotic oils, natural waxes, vitamins and plant extracts create the perfect moisturizing formula. The sleek lipstick has superior color payoff, glides easily onto lips, and is long wearing. Lips stay perfectly hydrated and soft throughout the day for no fuss, lip loving happiness. All our mineral makeup is 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes."

Ingredients: Jojoba oil, Coconut oil, Candeilla wax, Castor oil, Shea butter, Olive oil, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl palmitate, Retinyl palmitate, Mica, Titanium dioxide. may contain: CI 77891, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI77742

packaging: I really like the packaging. It’s a sleek black container with a soft matte finish. It looks elegant and much better than I would have expected for such an affordable price.

Staying power: There is nothing special to say anbout the staying power of this lipstick. It's not made to be a long lasting lipstick. It stays on just as long as any other decent lipstick.

Natural nymph:
A nice nude beige, just the right colour for a nude lip. It can be quite pale on some, and I would say it probably suits lighter skintones the best. Though it has a creamy consistency, it does dry my lips out a bit. I have dry lips so this may not be an issue for you. I like to put a bit of gloss on top of it to make it more wearable and less drying. Overall I really like this lipstick and wear it quite often.

Runway pink:
A wearable nude pink colour. It is supposed to have silver shimmer in it, but I really can’t see any. Again I would say that this colour would work best for lighter skintones. This lipstick is a bit creamier and not as drying as the natural nymph, so I have no problem wearing it without a gloss. This has become my favorite lipstick and I reach for it all the time.

Pros: nice packaging, affordable, good quality, good pigmentation.
Cons: can’t see the shimmer, some shades are a bit drying, needs a wider varety of colours like black, purples and peachy shades.

Price: £3,50 in the UK, DKK 29,58 in Denmark, $5,00 in the US.

Overall I am really pleased with the lipsticks, and would not hesitate to repurchase. I may try a few of their other shades, and let you know how they work for me.

Welcome to my blog.

Wow... I finally decided to make my own blog. I have always been interested in makeup, and have spent a lot of time watching reviews and tutorials. I love trying new makeup and sharing my opinions with others. So I thought it was about time to make my very own blog.

On this blog I will be giving you my personal opinion on different products that I have tried. It will include hauls, swatches, reviews, and sometimes makeup looks that I have created with the product.

This blog will mostly be about makeup, but at times I may include skincare products, haircare and styling. Sometimes even art and crafts projects I am working on and other things that interests me.

Currently I am planning to do a review on some ELF products that I have. Later I might blog about a custom eyeshadow palette I am currently working on.

I buy all the products myself. If I should review a product that was given to me as a gift, I will state that in my post.

You are welcome to suggest products and ideas that you would like me to blog about.

I cant wait to get started with my first review, and hope you will subscribe and follow me on this adventure.
