The Body Shop Lilly Cole VIP night

I just saw the most adorable makeup products from The Body Shop tonigh, Lilly Cole and The Body Shop has teamed up to create these lovely CRUELTY FREE girly summer must haves!

We got to see, touch, feel, smell, and use the products on our own skin tonight. And the lovely Body Shop girls gave us a makeover. Anf ofcourse we got to purchase the products as well.

This line of products will be on the shelves some time in july and I absolutely can't wait to hear what you guys think of the super pink super cute packaging.

The collection consists of
  • two lip & cheek domes
  • an illuminating face primer
  • 4 sheer but colourful mini glosses
  • a lovely new shimmer brick palette
  • a purple liquid liner
  • and lovely shimmer pearls

 First impressions:

Lip & cheek domes:
they come in 2 shades, a pink and a peachy/coral shade. These are supposed to be dabbed on to the cheeks or the lips for a natural flush of colour. The peach one was not very pigmented but would be really lovely for pale/fair skin and the pink one is a nice "suits all" kinda shade. These remind me of water colours. They have the pretty sheerness of a stain but the creamyness of a balm. They have no shimmer in them but will make you cheeks quite dewy. Great for dry skin.

 Liquid eyeliner:
Such a pretty dark pearly shade of purple. Comes with what looks like a felt tip brush. I tried it on but I think it was a little too harsh for the sensitive skin on my eyes. Lovely lovely shade!

Shimmer bricks:
Now this is probably the nicest shade combination I have ever seen in a shimmer brick palette. They are just so wearable and gorgeous. You get a pinkish champagne colour, a pastel lilac shade, a warm rusty/rosy very hard to describe shade and a lovely deep, dirty smokey plum. I had to have this and I can see myself creating several different looks with this.

Illuminating primer:
Is supposed to go under your makeup to give you a lustrous summer glow. This is quite a versatile product, as it can also be used as a highlighter and I think it would make for a nice shimmer effect on the eyes. This product is super cute looking with it's little pink pearly beads suspended in a clear gel. This product is quite shimmery almost glittery and I could not see myeself using it as a primer for all over the face though.

 Shimmer pearls:
Probably some of the most adorable packaging from the collection. A clear jar full of shimmery pearls in pink, pale yellow and champagne colours. This comes with a fluffy pink puff. I would prefer to use a brush for more precise application. These are so pretty and gives such a nice glow. I was so soo close to buying it and I kinda wish I had.

 Mini lip glosses:
4 shades of sheer and shimmery gloss. It's the same formular as the lip treatment glosses, just new shades. They are meant to be sheer and add just a bit of colour. they are really glossy and a bit thick in texture wich makes them last quite well on the lips. They have a fruity tropical scent to them that I just love.
A little display with the new makeup and some treats for the customers of the night. Mmmh champagne and mint chocolates...

The new stand with the Spa Fit toning products. I could not restist getting one of these babies either.

I have to say I am super excited about this new makeup collection, the packaging is unlike anything I have ever seen from Body Shop and the products are just in time for summer. I can't wait to give you my reviews of the products I bought. I should have gotten them all,but my credit card probably would not agree with me.

I would also like to thank The Body Shop in Glostrup for always being so welcoming and positive.

I broke my product pan!!!

I am so sorry you guys... I did something really really bad, but it felt sooooo good.

I have just gotten home from The Body Shop VIP night. We got a sneak preview of the new Lilly Cole cruelty free makeup collection that will be in stores in about a month. We got to try it but more important, we got to buy it! And so I tried my best to be a good girl. But I just had to have some of these products.

I got a beautifying oil and a bar of soap as a gift with purchase. The lip balm was also a gift.

The things I was forbidden from buying because of my ban is the Spa Fit toning concentrate and the new Lilly Cole makeup. I just could not help myself. I wanted to be one of the first to show you guys these fantastic products from the Lilly Cole series.

I had an amazing time tonight at the VIP night and a post will be coming up shortly.

Now don't think that just because I broke my ban that I will stop this project pan... I won't and in fact to show my commitment I will erase 1 item from my list of used up products per item I bought  today that I was not allowed to buy. So that is 3 items more I need to use up.

The shampoo and conditioner is not included in the project as these are actually thing I need. The makeup remover is not for me, I bought it for a colleque so that does not count either.

Can't wait to show you the pictures from the VIP night.

Upcoming series: Beauty on a budget

I finally have rund out of palettes for my palette of the week posts. So I thought it was time to do something new. I have been brainstorming for ideas, and first I thought I would do another weekly post type. But decided that it would be too difficult to find something that I could actually write about on a weekly basis without running out of items too quick.

So I decided I would start a series of posts in the category "Beauty on a budget"

I will be giving tips on where in your collection to splurge and where to save, reviews of affordable brands, makeup, haircare and skincare tips, project pan updates, and whatever my beauty budget heart desires. I will be testing out cheap DIY alternatives and writing about my good and bad experiences along the way.

I hope you will find these post interesting, fun and informative.

Can't wait to get started.

BB cream galore

It seems that BB cream has gotten increasingly popular these days. I have been using BB cream on and off for the last 2 ½ - 3 years time and I certainly understand the hype... Sort of.

I have tried a few American and/or European versions of BB creams and I have to say they are nothing compared to the Asian BB creams

So I decided to get a lot of different BB creams and review them for yoy guys. I am reviewing both asian and American/European BB creams.

I have been testing and trying BB after BB for the last couple of weeks and I am finally ready to bombarde you with review upon review and ofcourse I will be doing a comparison post with all the BB creams together.

I hope you will find this interesting, I will certainly keep trying new BB creams as soon as I am done with my project pan.

Look forward to reviews of 3 different Skinfood BB's, 2 Dr. Jart BB's, 2 Skin79 BB's, Garnier BB cream and Lioele BB cream

ELF radiance enhancer review

This review has been long overdue. I have had this product for quite a while now but it was only recently that I started to use it.

Price: DKK 34,50 £ 3,75 or $ 3,00 on either eyeslipsface.co.uk or eyeslipsface.com

Packaging: Twist up packaging with a brush tip applicator. This is a typical Studio product with the matte black packaging I have come to enjoy.

I bought the shade "spotlight" wich  is a super pale pinkish shade. When blended it does not really appear to have any colour it just brightens the area and leaves a bit of a glowing finish. It does not look greasy or glittery at all, it is a very lovely natural glow.

It does not seem to have any scent to it wich I know a lot of people will be happy about. The consistency is somewhat on the thicker side but it does apply really well. Once applied it "dries down" and won't feel like a cream product on the face, it did not make me feel greasy or oily. It does dry rather quickly so I did have to be a little quick about the blending.

So overall this is a very nice product that does a beautiful job. I just don't understand the brush tip applicator. I feel like one twist will give you way more product on the brush than you need, so I always put the product on my hand and apply with my fingers as the brush will not do a great job at blending anything while saturated in product.

This is certainly one of the better highlights and I would consider repurchasing it.

Project pan update

Woah it's going pretty fast right now with using up products. I am not expecting it to keep being this easy I think it's going faster in the beginning, but when I start replacing the used up products with completely new products it will get harder to use it up. If it turns out to be too easy I will just have to add more products to the project.

The Body Shop sweet lemon body butter 50ml tub:

I actually really liked how well this moisturized my skin. Even my elbows and knees felt so soft and my skin stayed hydrated for 24 hours wich is great. However I do not like the lemon scent. It's not a bad scent but I don't like to smell like lemons all day. And it did not go well with my perfumes.

Revlon lip butter, sugar frosting.

I love this lippie, I actually was not too happy with using this one up so fast. I used a lip brush to get the last bit of product out of it. There was actually a lot of product sitting in the bottom of the tube that I could not get to without a lip brush. I would certainly repurchase.

The body shop rainforest radiance shampoo and conditioner. (travel size)

I used up the shampoo way too fast because I had a hard time getting it to lather. I would have to wash and rinse one time and then wash it again to get it to lather and get it to properly clean my hair.
I was not too crazy about the conditioner either, I felt it made my hair a little heavy and weighed it down a bit. I would not repurchase these.

8 down 22 to go.

Sephora Flashy waterproof liner review

I bought these two waterproof eyeliner pencils last time I did a Sephora haul. I was looking for a liner pencil that would glide on smoothly yet stay on the water line for a long time.

Price: $8 in the US, and €6,50 in Europe

Packaging: Your typical eyeliner pencil. I do like the look of them, they remind me a bit of the Urban Decay 24/7 liners.

I bought the shades called "deep black" and "flashy taupe"

I have to say I am deeply impressed with these liners, upon swatching them I found that they applied super smoothly and very pigmented.

I have tried them on both the upper lash line, lower lash line and the water line and I am quite amazed with the wear time I get. These go on creamy and smooth then you have about a minute to smudge them out before they set and then they won't budge.

This is a great alternative to Urban Decay 24/7 liners and they also come in a vide array of colours. I have certainly found a holy grail eye pencil.

On my upper lash line they last all day and don't budge the slightest. On my waterline they stay on for quite longer than I am used to- about 5 hours before they start smudging a bit. But it can easily be fixed with a q-tip/cotton swab.

I absolutely love these and I am glad to say that I have found a holy grail eye pencil. The flashy taupe is so pretty, and quite lovely on the waterline as I sometimes feel like black can be a little too much for my waterline.

I will definately keep repurchasing, I mean this is such great quality at such an affordable price.

Project pan update / general update.

I am finally back home again after a week of house sitting in my home town. I have been bothered by on and off migraines for the last couple of days so I have not been blogging as much as I would have liked. I promise to make up for it in the next coupe of days.

So I used up yet another product:

Yved Rocher Tahitian shower oil.
I did really like the scent of this and it did not dry out my skin, problem is that I did not feel like it really cleaned my skin at all, so I would normally use regular shower gel before using this, making this product unnecessary. I would not repurchase this product even though I liked it.

4 down 26 to go.

Project pan update!

Wow this is going faster than I expected it to. I hope 30 products will be enough or I will just hav to add to the numbers.

I used up my daily moisturizer that I have been using for a good while now. I did like it, it did it's job but it was nothing special, I am unsure if I will repurchase it.

I also used up my Pore perfecting serum from The Body Shop. I really liked this one and I am sure I will repurchase it after the 30 pan is over.

I have almost used up one of my revlon lip butters, an eye cream, my nutriganics drops of youth and some body butter. So I have a feeling there will be a new update very soon.

that's 3 down 27 to go.

Sephora Sculpting disk review

I bought this the day Sephora opened in Denmark, and I have been using it pretty much every day since then.

Price: $24 in Sephora US, €15,50 in europe.

Packaging: It's quite a large round black compact with a great big mirror. Inside it you will find 5 grams of bronzer 12 grams of face powder and 5 grams of highlighter. The packaging seems sturdy and it has survived well in my handbag. On the back you will find instructions on how to apply the product.

This only comes in one shade as far as I know and it's the first time I have bought a 3 in 1 kind of product and actually have been able to use everything in it.

Bronzer: The bronzer is not completely matte but it is not shimmery or glittery either, it is more matte than shimmery and gives a nice soft focus natural finish. I apply it with a fluffy brush and it applies like a dream. It is just the right shade for me and it can be built up nicely.

Powder: The face powder is just right for my skintone, I was afraid it would be to dark but I think it is quite translucent. it does a great job at mattifying my skin and setting my foundation. I do have to be careful not to apply too much, but ones I got the hang of it, this really did a great job.

Highlighter: this is my least favorite bit. I don't know why the highlighter has to be so pink? and the shimmer is gritty and strange in texture. However applied lightly it does looks quite nice, but I would have liked another colour and less sparkle.

I absolutely love this compact! the bronzer is just right for me and it applies like a dream. I find it really easy to use and the results are amazing. Only negative would be the highlighter being a little too dark and shimmery and the powder in the compact does start to look a little strange after it's been used a lot, lol but I don't care how it looks in the pan as long as it looks good on the skin.

The powder does look a little strange in the compact, the upper left corner seems to be pressed a little too hard and it won't give off any powder so I tried to scratch the top layer off. I think I will wait and see if it get worse or better.

I never really did do a lot of contouring before I bought this as I did not currently have a matte bronzer that suited my colouring (or lack thereof) but now I am hooked. I just love this disk.

Swatched heavily

I am probably about NC15 and this is not too dark for me at all. I don't think this will be right for medium or dark skin though.

I certainly recommend this to anyone with pale/fair/light skin.

and I will be repurchasing this when I run out, and I probably will eventually run out if I keep using it every single day.

Have you guys tried it? what are your thoughts on it?

My Sephora Eau de toilette Collection + mini review

So I got hooked on these little handy perfumes the first time I visited Sephora earlier this month and had to go back to get more before my project pan.

Price: DKK40 wich is about $6

Packaging: The packaging is really sleek, long glass vials with a spray pump and a black cap to go over the pump. Each shade has it's own coloured container. You get 7 ml of eau de toilette

There were a lot of other scents that I did not purchase, but may purchase later on. But here are the ones that I did purchase.

Blueberry: Is a nice fresh scent that reminds me of blueberry flavored hard candies. It's not really a favorite scent of mine, even though I really like blueberries. This is probably the scent I find myself wearing the least.

Peony: Is absolutely gorgeous, such a lovely floral scent. very true to it's name and this scent gets a lot of love. My mother also really likes this scent.

Strawberry: When first applied it does smell like sweet strawberries but the scent changes on my skin, and turns into something else, like candy strawberries and burnt sugar with a hint of vanilla. It sounds strange but I actually really like it.

orange blossom: Another lovely floral scent that is true to it's name. For some reason I feel that it lacks something, like there is a note missing. But it still smells wonderfull I just keep expecting it to smell different.

Vanilla: It does smell a bit like vanilla, but not the real fresh kind of vanilla bean scent. More like a vanilla caramel scent. It is yummy though.

Monoi: This is my absolute favorite scent, floral yet sweet. Lovely hibiscus fragrance that reminds me of my childhood summers. My mom had an aftersun lotion that she always made me use in the summer as a child, and it smelled just like this. I wish I could get a biig bottle of this stuff, not the lotion but the fragrance lol. We actually still use the lotion so it would go perfect with that.

I like that there is a wide collection of sweet, floral, fruity and candy scents. I find that all these fragrances wear well throughout the day and I can still smell them after a whole day of wearing them.

I do think that they are a little pricey, considering you only get 7 ml. wich means I will be repurchasing that Monoi fragrance over and over again. I wish they came in bigger bottles.

However these are great for keeping in you purse or if you want to travel light. I have my eyes on a few more and I will probably end up owning them all.

Smashbox Photo op Mega palette eye looks

I thought it would be fund to see if I could do a look with every single trio and quad in the Smashbox range. I normally mix and match between the trios and rarely use them as sugested in the palette. I did experience a few problems trying to use the trios to create eye looks, most of the highlighter shades were wrong for me, I was too pale for them and they turned up looking dark on my skin.

Here are the looks:

The colours do not show up as dark or vibrant in the photos  but I hope it still gives you a good idea about the palette. Some of the neutral shades are quite alike but there are some gorgeous unique shades in this palette and I love how versatile it is.  I personally prefer to mix and match from the different trios instead of sticking to one trio at a time.

Sunplay Super block SPF 130

I had a small sample bottle of this that I used last year, and decided to go for the full size this summer. I bought this on Ebay along with the Sunplay acne clear SPF 50.

Price: I paid about 10$ for it on Ebay.

Packaging: Reminds me of a kids sun block, I do think it looks quite cute and summery. the bottle is smaller than I thought. I like the little nozzle on top, it makes it so much easier to only squeeze a bit out. You get 35 grams but a tiny bit really goes a long way.

I love this sunblock, it's a liquid milky type of lotion that goes on clear and you can't even tell that you are wearing it. It does not leave you with a white cast and you can't feel it on the skin, so it does not interfere with anything else you might be wearing.

Last year I used this on my face and it worked really well, this year I will be using it mostly on my body, because I got the Sunplay SPF 50 for my face isntead.

As with the Sunplay acne clear SPF 50, I do still get tan when using this, it just takes longer and I don't get as many sun spots and I don't get red.
I am very pleased with this sun screen, it allows me to stay out in the sun almost all day.

I certainly recommend this to anyone who has the same problems as me with staying out in the sun. I get red almost instantly and SPF 15 only gives me a maximum of 1 hour in the sun before I get red.

This is the second time I purchase this product, and I am sure I will be back for more next year.
