Urban Decay Vice 3 sadness

*update* everything has been resolved with the seller and I am very happy with the way she handled everything*

I got this in the mail yesterday. I had to wait quite a while for it to ship from the US and I wanted to just grab it and start playing with it right away.

But this is what I saw when I opened the palette.  Such a bummer... not the first impression I was looking for. I did contact the seller, but sadly she has not responded. Too bad. I'm probably still going to like this palette but I payed a lot more than it costs to get it shipped to Denmark so I was kinda hoping it would be perfect.

I will have to try and clean it up and fix the broken shadow, but right now it's just laying there untouched until I can get a hold of the seller.

If this was your palette, would you ask for a refund? or what would you do?

  1. Hi, it is not the sellers fault. The palette was well packaged & protected to ship out Internationally. I have no respect for Postal services everywhere that are thoughtless & sloppy with the handling of items that should not be thrown around, which imo all packages should be treated with respect. I too have received items broken, glass vials smashed & that was not even international shipping, it was local. I have had to take the loss because there just is too much red tape to go through to get refunded from them. But...being a fair & honest seller that I am, I'd be happy to have you return the palette & refund your $. I feel bad that you had to go through this especially with the extra fees that you are charged to get the palette into your Country. I have already messaged you. I am so sorry that this was such a broken experience for you. Hopefully, if you decide to keep it, you will be able to clean up the piece of white that chipped out of it & show your readers just how pretty the rest of the palette is. It truly is one of my very favorites...Talk soon! ps. I just love your blog!

    1. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I totally agree that it's the postal services fault. I just makes me kinda angry that you (the seller) can not get a compensation from the postal service considering how much we both paid for shipping. I will be able to clean it up nicely and it won't affect the other gorgeous colors in there. I may have to remove the White shade because it keeps flaking a bit. But I'm glad it was the White shade and not one of the others.

I think I just got really bummed out because I had been waiting for it and looking at Pictures online, you know... super high expectations. And then this was what first greeted me. But don't ypu worry. I think you are an amazing seller and your service is top notch... I definately will need your assistance with other purchases Again.

    2. this is actually my first Urban decay palette to arrive like this. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the shadows as well. They seem more powdery than previous UD palettes. I've heard from other bloggers that they find them more powdery too. I Wonder if the postal services played football with it hehe. I dropped my naked 2 palette with the metal case without it breaking the slightest.

  2. You are a really wonderful person, so understanding & patient. It really has been a pleasure meeting you & getting to read your beauty blog...I truly enjoyed it & you. I hope this episode does not stop you from ordering Internationally. I also have learned a lesson, do not trust the metal cases. Bubble wrap & more bubble wrap esp when shipping Internationally. I am so happy that you can work w/ the palette. I thank you for being so awesome...xoxo Sherri

  3. Oh my god that's awful :( I'd be absolutely gutted if this happened to me and you should raise a case through eBay as it's the seller's responsibility to package the item well which they clearly haven't. I'm sorry this happened to you :( xx

    1. to the sellers defense, she actually did a good job with the packaging and we have already resolved the issue. But yeah it sucks when these Things happen.

  4. You could always just ask for the shipping costs back if you are overall happy with the seller
