I got bought this palette in my last Makeup Revolution haul. But I had tried it and used it before. So I knew what I was buying and already knew that I would like it. I've been using it on and off for a while now, so I feel confident enough in reviewing it for you.
Price: £8 or about $12,63 on Makeup Revolutions website.
Packaging: Very sleek and compact. I originally thought it would be bigger, but I quite like the size of it. I like the quality of this packaging a lot. It seems sturdy and has some wheight to it. It comes with a giant mirror. There is no wasted space in this palette, and it does not come with sponge tip applicators. Big thumbs up! You get 16 grams of eyeshadow divided between 32 eyeshadows.
I think it's pretty neat that Makeup Revolution named all the shadows, but I really hate these type of plastic inlays. Would be awesome if the names were on the back of the palette or written under each eyeshadow.
This is an amazing palette! The pigmentation is great, especially on the metallic shadows. Even the mattes are good, although not as good as the other shadows in here. But they get the job done. I absolutely love the selection of neutrals, you got your taupe, your bronze, your gold, your champagne and you also have a few subtle pops of color, like the burgundy and blackened green and blue. So There is definately something in here for every neutral lover.
I find these shadows easy to work with, and the color payoff is great. I do recommend using a primer, especially if you have oily lids. Most of these shadows are very creamy, and for someone with oily lids, that could mean creasing. So definately use a primer or a waterproof/budge proof base.
I really love these shadows, but if I had to say one negative thing. It would be the lack of mattes. I really think we could have used a few more mattes. There is only about 6 mattes in the palette. So I could have used some more matte crease Shades, as these shadows can be quite metallic and shimmery on their own. I have been pairing this palette with their essential mattes palette, and that has really been a much needed addition to this.
Overall I'm really pleased with this palette. The pigmentation is amazing and I see myself reaching for this all the time. It's also great if you are just trying to build up your makeup collection. I recommended this palette to a friend of mine, who is just starting to get back into makeup after a long break. And she really likes it, next thing on my list, is to get her the essential mattes palette to use with it.
If you are looking for a great neutral palette, then look no further. But I suggest you get a couple of matte shadows on the side.
